EL MIRADOR, HELICOPTER TOUR
El Mirador is a city of the Late Maya Preclassic, located in the Mirador basin, Petén, Guatemala, dating from 600 BC. C. and was partially abandoned ca. 150 d. de C. It was later reoccupied in the late classic period and finally abandoned in the ninth century AD. C. El Mirador is located in the Maya Biosphere Reserve, and can only be accessed by helicopter or from the village of Carmelita, 2 days walking for 9 hours or on horseback.
4:30 a.m. – Transfer from your hotel to the Airport
6:30 a.m. – Guatemala – Flowers – El Mirador – Flores – Guatemala
Upon arrival you will have time to have a quick breakfast.
Transfer in the helicopter to the Mirador, approximately 45 minutes of flight. They will be accompanied by an expert guide on the subject. Then you have 4-5 hours to walk over the location and see all the important buildings discovered so far.
Return of the helicopter flight to Flores and then the flight to the Capital City.
Notable buildings: El Tigre pyramid is over 60 meters high and by a wide margin exceeds the largest temple of Tikal (Temple IV), Danta, reaching more than 100 meters from its base, it is considered to be the largest pre-Columbian structure in both Americas.
